Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Interesting... Ok now I've noted that the record I was referring to was between the years 1945-2011. My guess is when Environment Canada moved their sensor equipment mid-2012 they failed to amalgamate the information between the (now two) periods of record keeping...

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
It's the same thing for almost all the stations... Most of the main stations in Canada have been moved between 2011 and 2013.arbetrader wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 9:18 am Interesting... Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
I agree, theres a fruit stand on Hwy 1 north of Lytton but a little south of Spences Bridge where when I'm driving through is always a degree or two hotter then Lytton.Glacier wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 8:39 am Unfortunately, Spence's Bridge has no weather station any more. It didn't in 2006 or 2009 or 1958 or 1941 either. Too bad because when it did have a station it blew Lytton out of the water. Eg. 1994 and 1998.
If Spence's Bridge had a station today, I would say that the all time record likely gets broken, but without it, I'd say the odds drop below 50%.

Had a brief power outage for 30 seconds. Grid must have gotten overloaded.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
The grid is not likely to be overloaded. Wintertime electricity demand for heating significantly exceeds any reasonably expectable demand for cooling during this event.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 10:33 am Had a brief power outage for 30 seconds. Grid must have gotten overloaded.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Yes I'm aware that there is no official station in Spences bridge, but station or no station, that location has the potential to outperform other stations such as Lytton or even Ashcroft. It will be hot!Coquitlam79 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 10:19 am I agree, theres a fruit stand on Hwy 1 north of Lytton but a little south of Spences Bridge where when I'm driving through is always a degree or two hotter then Lytton.
