I don't know, mate. Those upper levels look pretty dry. Probably only 1-3cm

I think all 4 of those locations will break the current Canadian record high and Lytton will reign supreme and hold the new records.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 8:07 am When everything's said and done, I think Lytton (or Lillooet, Ashcroft, Cache Creek, etc.) and not some place in the Fraser Valley is likely to be the hottest town in Canada.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Lower 40s inland today. Mid 40s inland tomorrow. Near 40 inland on Tues as the marine push looks really weak.
4 straight days above or near 40. This is stupid.

Look at those surface CAPE values this evening.
Obviously, no dynamics for thunderstorms.

This is rivaling July 1936 for the greatest heat wave to ever hit in North America, except instead of Manitoba and North Dakota being the epicenter Southern BC is.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
What I worry about is the knee-jerk reactions. The media down in Washington state is all in with the "climate change is to blame" narrative. This heat wave and especially a stat like that is going to dial up that sensationalism up to an 11. Watch it. It's going to get ugly. I feel bad for Clff Mass.

6 years of smokey summers. Lower than average snowfall during that period. Coastal droughts across the PacNW, SW USA. Global temps increasing.Coquitlam79 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 9:51 am What I worry about is the knee-jerk reactions. One event shouldn't drive sensationalism but what we are seeing is a byproduct of anthropogenic global warming. It's terrifying looking back at the past 10 years and spotting the trends.
Cliff Mass is a joke nowadays.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
What do you think a 4 or 5 day event like this has on glacier melting, SST's, river temps for salmon, etc. Is it too short of a duration or is it going to have some effect? The amount of water roaring off the higher peaks and glaciers right now is massive .

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Well he goes against the narrative that's for sure. It will be interesting to see what he says when this heat wave is over. The cause etc. Anyways sorry to get a little political here. I just was wondering where the media is going to go with this.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 10:02 am 6 years of smokey summers. Lower than average snowfall during that period.
