The thermal trough moves at a snails pace. Still expecting near +40C on Tues. Doesnt appear to begin "cooling" down until Wednesday.

There is some relief on the 00Z GFS. Shows a marine push Tuesday morning, very weak, but still there.

The amount of water roaring off the higher peaks and glaciers right now is massive .
The salmon aren't running yet, but that aside, the temperatures increase the melt rate. Glacial fed rivers like the Chilko peak in August when the melt rates peak. This year could seeing the peak flows now. This cools the water, but for rivers not fed by any glaciers (eg. Okanagan) the high temperatures will definitely warm the water, that could be bad for fish, especially if we get prolonged drought.

Ya it looks like the Puget Sound region and especially SW Washington will get the marine push about 18-24 hours before we do.

00Z Euro. Not much of marine push, but Tuesday's highs are almost 10C cooler than Monday. Although the Puget Sound sees relief on Tuesday morning, their highs rebound as high or higher than us.

Yeah it was, however we decided to delay our trip till next week... As we'll be in the Osoyoos area, didn't want to content to 40+ the entire time. You never know though, this intense heat might still linger a bit longer than is comfortable though...

I have screens on the windows. 1 fan to blow out the hot air, and more hot air will come in except it will be less humid.
I use my fan to blow cold air in, I've found it's more effective than blowing hot air out
