Triple-digit temperatures at BLI today? Probably not:
  • The official forecast was a few degrees warmer than reality yesterday. If that trend holds today, then no.
  • So far this morning, temperature is also not trending significantly higher than yesterday, another vote for missing the century mark.
  • This afternoon is now within HRRR range, and that model says “close but no cigar” as well.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Wow this is crazy - I wonder if that's correct?

What also seems to amaze me is that we still have not really gotten dangerously close to breaking our all time morning temperatures at YXX - set July 11, 2007. It was over 30C by 8am, and 33.3 by 9am. I'm really hoping we can do it, either today or tomorrow. But I doubt it. Goes to show how incredibly intense that heat system was on that day 14 years ago. Sad that the winds had to change so early in the day, and cut our daily high to 37.9.

Well.....we are supposed to go to Green Lake, by 70-Mile today, I'm probably delaying it and leaving tonight. Might not be a smart move taking a motorhome through the canyon on a day like this 🥵🥵

It probably is. Aircraft temperature sensors tend to be accurate. It is literally a matter of life and death that they are. Temperature affects air density affects aircraft performance.

Plus, it makes sense. It is known to be warm aloft, and nighttime inversions are a common thing.

P.S. Plus, many mountaintop stations stayed very warm overnight.

You're right. In looking a bit further I found this: https://nwac.us/weatherdata/mtbakerskiarea/now/

It is the Mt Baker ski area temps for both 4250ft and 5000ft levels. Check out the temps overnight at 5000ft. Moreover, the summit (10800ft roughly) is forecasting a high of 24C today. At nearly 11,000 ft. Let that sink in.

My mom’s up at our Place at Watch Lake. She said it’s hot but the nights have been cooling off nicely with a little breeze. But yea, a motor home in the canyon with temps 45-50 sounds a bit dicey.

Look at those widespread mid 30s in the western communities of Victoria. Picking up some “nice” downsloping in the North wind

I’m gonna try to work a half day today. Wish me luck :?

Yeah, things like transmission temps, and even tire pressure/temps can play a role in things going either well, or not well at all.

26.5c at YVR at 9am. It's about 1c higher then this time yesterday..but still a light NW wind blowing if that dies down later in the afternoon the all time record will likely be broken.
