NW winds have picked up again. Temps holding at 28c per the 11am update.VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 10:22 am YVR running a touch warmer than yesterday despite the NW'lies. We might as well hope the sea breeze dies down for YVR too if we're gonna have to slog through another record breaking day.

How is she doing?
Mine usually gets up every time I do, and it's at the door ready to go, not now she's happy to stay inside with the AC while I go out

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
At this point that sea breeze is just annoying. I also genuinely think the relocation of the YVR station in 2012 is what is behind this, and that we would easily clear the all time record today if not for that.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
We reached 39.6 yesterday Sunday at Burnaby Mountain. Our power went off from 5 pm to midnight, so my wunderground page has an incomplete picture for yesterday. This compares to a 37.1 high on Saturday. At noon today Monday, it's 35.9, tracking more than 2 degrees hotter than same time yesterday. The weather story is absolutely unbelievable.
The human story is absolutely tragic. I work as a paramedic in the Vancouver area and the suffering out there is unimaginable. Extreme levels of hyperthermia, respiratory and cardiac calls; many deaths. The temperature inside many residences is mind-blowing. Please check on your neighbors, friends, family, and especially the weak and elderly. Get them out of the heat.
