Don't believe that. The NAM ran too cool for temps on Saturday/Sunday at least.

Would it be wrong to suggest that the humidex is the only number that really matters?

Temp 27ËšC, DP 22 at 9:35 pm. Just took a walk through the neighborhood and it feels like an August night in Illinois.
It's called clown range for a reason.

That's true. The GFS and GEM show a cool down too, but not as robust.

Look at Portland! 113f (45c) at 653pm and 86f (30c) at 908pm. Impressive. I wish we could see such a dramatic temperature change.

If 73f was a record highest min for them it'd be unfortunate if it drops below that before 12am.

35.1c inside the house so it's time to open the windows.
Still 30 outside here. I thought I’d try opening the window but immediately felt a rush of hot air. Had to shut it again.

I see the ICON offers no relief for the South Island tomorrow. Still pushing 40C.

I see the water off the coast is starting to heat up again. Should be another warm JAS upcoming.

I noticed that. Doesn't bode well for onshore flow events later into the winter if it holds. :|

27c ar YVR Vancouver but the humidity is over 60%. I was just at a friend's place in Kits and the humidity is brutal out this way. Could be a little marine air coming in that's not really doing much with the temps yet but acting to increase the humidity.

The HRRR shows 34.7C with a humidex of 39.2C at 1PM tomorrow in Abbotsford. Defiantly cooler than the past few days but still considered heat wave criteria by normal standards. That said, I think the evenings will cool off significantly this week, so that should help even if the peak highs are still hot.
