Another thing.. AC needs to become part of every residence now. 135 people dying because they had no AC is a pathetic disgrace on our society. The elderly, the ill, people who can't handle heat, especially here where we are not used to it should be able to live in a survivable climate controlled home. AC, Heat Pump.. whatever, they need to be available to everyone.

And another thing I wonder how many are going to die from bad air quality which I fear is going to be an issue going forward this summer (until both our region and especially the interior get decent rain). It's become common in most summers now.

l know where the Sardis volunteer station is l could take a photo but l don't think the neighbors would appreciate someone snooping around snapping pics.

Its still 27C here with a humidex of 31C. Cooler than the past few days but I would have thought it would have cooled down more by now.

A couple more wildfires--small at this point. There was a brief thunderstorm in the Graystokes just north of Big White. It doesn't look to be near populated areas. Why not let them burn? Those remote forests need this self-cleaning to do its thing.

My thoughts exactly.

Otherwise we end up with another 2017/2018 scenario where fire growth was exceptionally easy in large remote areas that had decades of dead forest material buildup on the forest floor due to fire suppression. Add in a drought and multiple heatwaves and the result was devastating for some locales.

Where's Whistler? Just saw 42° on two different apps. Man,didn't think we'd be hotter than yesterday. At Alta lake in shade was no problem , but strolling the village, yikes, foogetaboutit, it's murder, hottest I've ever experienced,but at least it's not humid like back east.

Cst Goose say's not accurate overexposed can't get around to moving it too busy with many other overexposed stations.

And… boom! Down to 23°C on Sumas Mountain. Mixed out to at least that elevation. That explains the weird temperature spike. Was 34°C there at 7:00 pm, high today of 39, did not drop below 29 last night.

Wind gusting to above 30 mph / 50 km/h at BLI right now.
