Something to keep in mind. If those fires in Northern California and southern Oregon get really going (and some have) even southerly flow won't help matters much.

BC and Washington are basically clear of smoke this morning. Just a small amount coming from the White rock lake fire. 24km+ visibility at most stations. The cool showery weather has really calmed the situation for now.

Upper level flow looks more SW Thursday night according to the GFS. I think the westerly component would help prevent the worst of the California smoke from making it its way here.

Depends on how much of the California fire smoke makes it out over the ocean. If it does, it would get caught up in the SW flow.

Anyway, the bigger picture is it will be hot late this week. Smoke or no smoke will become clearer a day out or so. Too many variables involved.

Smoke looks pretty isolated and not too bad through Wednesday morning at least. Nothing too thick or widespread

I suspect those fires in the interior will grow as this week progresses.
