That fire sure exploded this evening. Winds were gusting 50-60 km/hr pretty much all evening. Temperature is currently 27 degrees and still getting gusts up to 30 km/hr. Fire is still creeping down the mountain.

First pic I took at 5:15 when I first noticed smoke, second one at 8:30 when flames reached the top of the mountain, third one 9:30. Really hoping for some rain the next couple days.

Actually it darn right pisses me off!

A state of emergency in major BC cities and the local radio is all rebroadcasting crap out of Vancouver. PATHETIC!

Maybe if we actually had independently owned media rather than all owned by the same mega corps, we would have live reporters and reports relaying info LIVE on the radio!!! I have no idea how they get away with this. Your town is burning down and local radio is playing a feed from out of the city. IDIOTS! They should all have their licences pulled and forced to provide live local radio coverage.

I've found this year there are very few mosquitoes around here. I have found some squigglers in buckets with a bit of water and just dump them out.

Ya what is up with that? It was always said a wet may and June made mosquitoes bad yet this year it's been dry, so what the actual heck? Perhaps the Fraser River is breeding them? Or the stagnant water in all the ditches and small rivers, running through the flats.
