I guess no ones impressed with what the Knucks did in the draft or trade front this past weekend.?

Sounds like they stole another one(podkolzin) in the 1st round to go along with the last two 1st rounders ( Pettersson & Hughes). J.T. Miller is a good addition but is he worth a 1sr rounder? I think Benning and Aquillinni are desperate for making the playoffs , that will be made more clear on July 1st.

I have not experienced (when I'm awake) a very good thunderstorm here in west central Maple Ridge since September 5, 2013.

There have only a few OK years (two) at my house since then. 2016 and 2015 were OK here I think. The other years since 2014 have been terrible.
Last year I had to wait until September 14 for the only thunderstorm I observed that year. That thunderstorm was decent, but it was the only one
I observed in 2018.

July 25, 2009 was the best thunderstorm I experienced here in terms of lightning, and thunder. That was great, I think.

When I lived in South Surrey (near White Rock) I experienced the White Rock Storm on June 8, 1999. That was a long lasting massive hailstorm,
with incredible torrential downpours (the longest lasting torrential downpour I have experienced). I also counted 34 rumbles of thunder during
the White Rock storm, with some of them being fairly loud. The White Rock storm was incredible!

In 1989 YVR had the most days with a thunderstorm (15, I recall) when that data was still publicly available (at the Vancouver Public Library).
Around 1995, or 1996 Environment Canada stopped producing days with thunderstorm data for the general public on its monthly meteorological summaries. Those monthly meteorological summaries with the days with thunderstorms observed data were, and still might be at that library.
I never found that data online. I hope for a 1989 redux, at least for thunderstorms!

At first I was unhappy with the draft choice but from what I hear, he is actually supposed to be a really good hard working player and he has made it clear that he does in fact to play in the NHL. It just sucks that we have to wait so long to see him.

As for the JT Miller trade, I am confident he will be a good addition and asset to the team. However, we overpaid. Benning totally got robbed. I'm not at all convinced he was worth a 1st rounder.

Apparently, Tyler Myers met with the Canucks the other day and is asking for a 7 year 8 million per year contract. Please fire Benning if he signs him for that. But having said that, I think Tyler Myers could also be a great addition and asset to the team. He's just not likely worth what he's asking for and I fear it could turn into a Loui Eriksson bust all over again.

I also hear the Canucks are interested in Jake Gardiner and or Gustav Nyquist. Benning's contract is up next year and Francesco Aquilini
is not known for being content to do a slow rebuild. He wants to push to get into the playoffs every year by adding older free agents every off season. Thus, Benning probably feels his job is on the line unless he goes all in on free agents and big trades that can help us at least sneak into the post season next year. My problem with this approach is that its more of an instant gratification thing but doesn't have a lot of hope in leading us to become cup contenders.

We'll see what they decide to do.

Thankfully GOD has given us much more to life than hockey. I wouldn't want to live for the Canucks thats for sure.

Yes confirmed saw a couple of forked lightning and heard a couple of rumbles towards Cultus Lake.
