There needs to be slope assesments first to send in crews and equipment...then geotechnical assessments along the entire route with fluvial geomorphological assessment near the rivers. This will take approx 8 weeks but assessments may be hindered freeze-thaw conditions.

Temporary repairs could begin during the winter but full repairs will likely not be complete until September.

Hwy 1 near Lytton can be repaired sooner but my guess is a mid December opening.

They should deploy the military to help with repairs. Should speed up the process.

Yeah my friend said it was grim when they did the initial ground assessment yesterday. More damage was done overnight.

Another bridge upstream will also need to be replaced since its all cracked up. A lot of this work cannot be done until the summer due to diurnal temp changes and conditions.

We are probably going to see a few temporary roads and structures put in place until major repairs can be done.

We are probably going to see a few temporary roads and structures put in place until major repairs can be done.

Was thinking that too. We'll see a lot of temporary road fixes get built soon. Perhaps I'm too optimistic but I think it will reopen to traffic within the month.

Actual highway will likely take months to fully repair though.
