I went through some more data and it seems like more of the numbers in the tweet are off. Here's what I see based on the data and using the timeframe he set. And again... would be helpful if someone with twitter could point this out to him.

I'm sure you can understand people's frustrations after hundreds needlessly died mere months ago and the government reaction once again appears reactive. It does appear Washington was more proactive with their warning system. But regardless there is a lot happening behind the scenes we don't see or know about, as you pointed out.
Agree on how slow govt can be to react and even though where I work has us practicing for emergencies all the time it is almost impossible to recreate real time situations. Unfortunately we ignore major infrastructure issues until it is too late. Thanks to everybody for all the great posts.

Typeing3 wrote: Wed Nov 17, 2021 4:58 pm Again... I don't know where is he getting the data for Hope. He said in one reply he tallied up the totals from Nov 7-10th, 1990 for these totals.

Based on that and checking airport records on the EC site for Nov 1990, it shows 25.8mm on the 7th, 25.1mm on the 8th, 173.1mm on the 9th followed by 130.5mm on Nov 10th. Total = 354.5mm. Not 197mm.

I see some people are bringing up the Jan 1935 event in the comments under his tweet.

Coquitlam Lake had 532.4mm of rain fall in 4 days on top of a 100cm+ snowpack during that event.

Ok. Let's chill guys. Everybody's position is defensible, no need to sling mud right now. Things will become clearer soon.

I’m curious if the lack of snow in the Mountains makes the runoff faster. A deep snowpack can absorb a lot of water if the temps are only slightly above freezing at higher elevations.
