On a positive note the AR for Tuesday looks weaker/further North.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
There was quite the prolonged arctic blast in December 1990. It was a very snowy one for Seattle. How did Vancouver do?

It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
There’s enough times there’s been analogues with 1990 and 2008 this autumn that it really makes me think this winter has better than average odds of being very snowy (say, in the snowiest 10%).
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I'm at 46.7 mm for the day. I doubt I'll see much more today, if any as the radar indicates the main band of moisture has moved out.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
l recall Christmas day 1990 we had snow on the ground.
I was living up on Austin heights in Coquitlam.
I recall abit of freezing rain that day and then the Arctic hammer dropped couple day's before New Years.
We had a snowfall event around Dec19th l believe it was kinda slushy, l think we had Arctic air slide in around Dec 10th or so.
Another good snowfall event around the 9th of Jan/91, l remember heavy snow.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
We had a few days of wet snow Dec 14-16th before the arctic air blasted through on the 17th with flurries. Cold and sunny alternating with more flurries for the next few days.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 8:40 pm There was quite the prolonged arctic blast in December 1990. Slight warmup around Christmas with showers/freezing rain/wet snow followed by another significant push of arctic air and a significant snowstorm on the 29th/30th with 30-60cm across the mainland.
Warmed up with a few showers for a few days after but didn't melt a lot of snow on the ground. Another push of arctic air on Jan 4th, followed by another snowstorm on the 7th/8th that dropped 20-50cm across the mainland.

Not bad. Need that ridge to be further east and amplify, but it is nice to see rising heights start to push into Alaska.
