Re: Covid Pandemic
I don't get it why try to slow Omnicron if it's nothing more than a flu and or cold let it blow through the quicker we get out of it. I mean why try and slow it so it lingers forever for more booster shots and more money for big pharmaceutical companies.

Re: Covid Pandemic
On the news last night some buddy explained that they expect 1/3 of the population to get Omicron and that even if 1/10th% were sick enough to go to the hospital that would be enough to overwhelm the system. 1/10th of a % is 12,000 + hospitalizations across the country, if you look at how rapid Omicron spread across S. Africa I'm guessing they're concerned with most of those 12,000 hypotheticals needing care all within a month or two.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 3:13 am I don't get it why try to slow Omnicron if it's nothing more than a flu and or cold let it blow through the quicker we get out of it. wanting to slow Omnicron down.
IMO it appears it's too late now the numbers of infection are absolutely staggering l'm scared to see our numbers for the weekend later today, l'm thinking record breaking or close especially with the number of people l heard were in line ups for testing.

Sometimes it is nice to take a break from the information overload and just use some common sense, Fishman.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 10:23 am I suppose that's a good point, l'm just tired of it all its easy to rant and not think the rational behind

Re: Covid Pandemic
I have really bad acid reflux that gives me headaches sore thoart and even shortness of breathe. So when the pandemic first happened it was difficult to see the difference between the two.PortKells wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 3:45 pm Thank goodness for vaccines or this could've been real bad. This has to be one of the most infectious variants of any virus ever. It's doubling every two facking days!
I ended up not getting tested. I read about the lines and I'm not doing that. Whatever this is is super mild with basically a sore throat at times.

BidenPortKells wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 8:36 am Biden has already come out and stressed that this isn't the same as previous variants. I personally believe public health officials are waiting on more data but its possible that overwhelming public pressure will force their hand and just let this variant go because its already too late to stop it.

Luke Schenn had Omnicron said it felt nothing more than a flu virus.

Re: Covid Pandemic
That's what l said Kells but Moonlady mentioned probably the reason to try and slow it was so hospitals don't get overwhelmed by those that are immune comprised.
