Good. I would like there to be skating on Trout Lake.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Roberts Creeker wrote: Sat Dec 25, 2021 9:40 pm Is there a difference between graupel and snow pellets? This article considers snow pellets, graupel and soft hail the same thing:
'Graupel are soft, small pellets formed when supercooled water droplets (at a temperature below 32°F) freeze onto a snow crystal, a process called riming. If the riming is particularly intense, the rimed snow crystal can grow to an appreciable size, but remain less than 0.2 inches. Graupel is also called snow pellets or soft hail, as the graupel particles are particularly fragile and generally disintegrate when handled.'

https://www.nssl.noaa.gov/education/svr ... ail/types/

Interesting read, defines all frozen precipitation: snow, graupel, hail and sleet.
It’s like the article says, different terms for the same thing. I dislike the “soft hail” one since graupel is very different from normal hail.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Can you do the whole tumbleweed spiel again? Since your outflow post I've had 4 cm of snow.

4 cm since 7 PM
Snow depth 10 cm

Light snow continues. May be winding down in the next half hour, but pretty decent for South Vancouver.

That band is heading west and there's a huge amount of moisture heading north towards the border. I'm betting it doesn't cross it though.

Not fireworks, avalanche control.

Someone was doing something up here too earlier, I was thinking bear bangers but it could have been fireworks or shots.
