Sucks that trough on the weekend wants to dig offshore. Shift it a few notches east and we would be golden.

So my pellet stove piping is spewing out hot exhaust into the sunny air and the steam is forming small snowflakes/ice crystals within seconds. Can anyone explain this? It's hilarious to see this

It’s a small version of “industrial snow”. Here’s an interesting read for you

Water vapor is one of the two chief products of wood combustion (the other being carbon dioxide). Cold air can hold less water than hot air. So the water vapor goes directly from gas to solid as it cools in the frigid air. The same phenomenon writ large is responsible for the ice fogs that can form in northern cities.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Any further West and it may as well go far enough to kick up a ridge so we can cap in the cold!

Decent chance of that I'd say. Looks like cloud cover may help lid temperatures.

Just too bad that the high would probably be -7.8°C in YVR (at 10:00 pm yesterday). The daytime high should be much lower than that...
