I love this cold but it makes you happy you don’t live in a place like Alberta in the winter. At least for me.

Mine are really pets. I think of them as being smart in their own way. As humans we identify more with predator behaviour and when you look at sheep from a prey behaviour a lot of their 'stupidity' is behaviour that can keep them safe as a prey animal but looks stupid from a predator angle.

My sheep will walk on a halter and were easier to train than my dog. They have done studies and were surprised at the intelligence of sheep but as you say an animal treated like a pet, spend a lot of time with them and exposed to different things will act quite a bit differently.

That's actually awesome. I mean the brains thing I probably shouldn't say, they do a ton of intelligent things. But the extra time you spend with them surely would increase their ability to be a little more trained and hone their intelligence. Like I say I'm kind of a passenger in this, the farm I'm living on kind of has its way of doing things and honestly it works great. Everything is treated with tons of respect, but life can be tough for them at times too.
