Can anyone here (John) chime in on how brutal that cold spell was?

How long do you guys think it has been since we last saw this much ice on the fraser in the lower mainland? At this point I'd say there might be even more early Jan 2017, so maybe further back than that...late Dec 2008?

If not, then going even further back, there's also late Dec 1996, early-mid Jan 1993, late Dec 1990 and early Feb 1989.

Can anyone here (John) chime in on how brutal that cold spell was?

Coldest February on record in Vancouver. Mean temp of -0.4c with an average high/low of 3.3c/-4.1c. Four days with <-10c temps and an extreme min temp of -13.3c.

0z GFS looks like it's shifted a good chunk wetter thru Thurs AM. 0z RGEM also upped the precip totals.

Looks like the central valley miisses out on most of the action only half of what is forecasted for Metro Van.
