Monday's temps definitely just about made category 5 though. Very impressive, especially considering it had been so, so long since we last saw cold (both highs and lows) of that magnitude.

l'd have to go with Cat: 2.5 pant ripper for outflow in the central valley right now l'm testing it now with pants on of course.
I may have to add wind speeds eventually, l like your Cats, for temperature so my pant ripper may work for outflow conditions.
Why have the Beaufort scale when you can have the newly improved Sardine scale,
get it scale. :roll:

Yes. Warmup is pretty brief. Back to snow most places by Monday. That big arctic High is gonna be tough to budge.

Sure has warmed a surprising amount overnight here. Temp up to -3.7C. YYJ is up to -2C
North end of Shawnigan Lake. Southern Vancouver island. 500ft

:shock: holy frozen Sardines, Fort St. John has a brief warm up Fri/Sat, then back down to -39c by Monday night.
