*I wanted to mention how poor the roads especially the side roads in Surrey are. Poor is in not cleared properly. Many lots/parking lots/gas stations etc have not had their lots cleared and they have had several days to get it done. Either too lazy or too cheap, and now it's going to be worse as it will be almost ice buried beneath the new snow. Very bad on the side roads with compact snow & ice on some hills. Surrey is pathetic!! I have no idea how other cities have been doing over the last week.

We don’t work for the cities, but I have noticed the same everywhere. Today was the last day private company could get road salt as we were all cut of to preserve for municipalities. I think part of the problem is poor planning to replace the pile and we have known this for a while. No more road salt coming to Lafarge until February!! Can you believe it! Luckily we have a large Quonset but it won’t last till February. Also there isn’t a shortage in bags of salt, but they have put a limit on them. We had to order an entire 53’ trailer of pallets.

Nope. Ground frozen. I am screwed to get many things done. Snow can insulate the ground so it goes away faster.

FYI, just passing 1 inch or 2.5cm now. Very light snow though.

I think this precip is much heavier than the models mentioned. Most snow which I saw came after 12pm, mostly around 3am.
