Yep, the river on that stretch between NE Surrey thru Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Langley is narrower and shallower than further downstream. Easier to freeze.

Snow has tapered off now in the central valley radar not showing much for out here.
Amazing echoes over some areas of Metro Vancouver.

Yeah! I've seen snowfall rates like this but to have them sustained is rare indeed for this part of the world.

There was a night in January 2020 where we picked up 30cm in just over 4hrs here. It was crazy. Hopefully it keeps up for you until sunrise.

Haven't been outside to measure but what I can see on the table where I measured earlier it's 12-13 cm so far.

YYJ is up to -0.6C with a strong SE wind. Perhaps this low is
