Really hope to see the cut off down south strengthen and the block over us strengthen into a Omega Block in future runs. Want a 3-4 weeks of ridging! Put those lousy Easterners into the ice box

Bad news is that AK vortex is coming back to life as soon as day 5. It will be there for a while...only a matter of time before the ridge nudges further E and we see :dancepine: :dancepine: :dancepine: .

Where is everyone (EC) seeing even light snow before midnight? I'm not feeling at all optimistic about tonight through Monday night whatever the GFS says.

I will admit I'm not basing this much on evidence, so no need to throw model maps at me. I may just have a rumbly gut after New Year's Eve.

Climo :cancel: ∞ to 0.5 :14clown: GFS

Agree. Temps aloft and the surface are moderating. Precip will likely start off as light rain tomorrow from the onset in Metro Van. +7 by tomorrow afternoon with heavy rain developing by tomorrow evening.

I disagree with the heavy rain. I don't see much in the way of snow OR rain.

Yes I agree. Looks pretty dry until the skinny, hung up cold fronts arrives. Maybe a few hours of rain then showers, flipping over to wet snow in the hills Monday
Yesssss
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

High res models (HRDPS and NAM) look pretty dry. No heavy rain.
