We had a front loaded winter. Getting a top tier arctic blast in the height of winter is what we've been wanting forever. How many times we've lamented the backloaded February winters...I wouldn't trade this one in that's for sure. And hey it ain't warm rain at least.

We're still waiting for a cold January unfortunately. Been an astonishing 30 years (1993!) since we last had one.

Surprised no one posted this probably won't come to fruition with El Neets pineapple ridge coming up.

Strong/broad but relatively flat NPAC ridge = cold rain/slush for us.

Rather see something Tfoggy rather than another upcoming doldrums pattern, chances are inversion again sun not strong enough to burn much off. Would rather see the mountains start building the snow pack they haven't had much the last month time is ticking.

Kind of sad when we only get a couple of posts during mid winter.
Thanks to those that keep posting even if it's in another topic thread  doesn't have to be weather but there's other interests going on in the meantime.

Welp Tspring 5 years ago we were enjoying that monster snow event, when did we come out of by the 7th? we were living in Mission back then l'll never forget the following ice storm and the falling branches from the giant cedar trees in the backyard one punched a hole in our roof. In the spring that year we had them cut right down,
thank goodness as you know we had that worse ice storm in December 2017.

We had to dig ourselves out so a bunch of neighbors all pitched in that's the pile in the middle of our cul de sac. I posted these on the old forum so on the 5 year anniversary l thought l'd bring them back here.

Here's one for you Tleaves, to look up the last week of February 1991, l remember l was living up on Austin heights it was mild. Then l believe arctic air moved in with a dump of snow on March 1st 91,
I don't think it lasted long but l recall we got about 15cm or so l remember that event for the fact the day before it was 14c or so.

15c for Thursday/Friday in the central valley, don't tell if this was July that would translate to 45c. :x
