When I was living on Bainbridge Island, there was an unusual August wind/rain storm about 5 years ago. The combination of wind and fully-leaved trees made for extensive tree damage and power outages.
It's called clown range for a reason.

That was a big one up here too. Late August 2015. Lost power for over two days due to that.

Huge amount of tree damage. Combination of fully-leaved trees and the preceding spring/summer drought.

Wow! That's a long outage. We also lost power from that storm but for only 5 hours, so not a big deal. Nothing compared to being without power for over two days. Did you lose everything in your refrigerator?

A few items but it could have been a lot worse. Thankfully was able to store a lot of stuff at a family member's place, who has an extra fridge/freezer.

2022 heatwave, a whopping 22.5c

Let's hope not!

Is everyone ready for the storm?

Nothing here yet but I have my flashlights charged and a bucket of water....hoping being ready will mean the power stays on.
