Re: Gas Prices
And what a surprise, pump prices didn't fall reflecting the drop in oil yesterday, but again as soon as it goes up 1 cent, the pump price jumps. This part needs to be regulated. It's always in favour of the oil companies and and all their BS excuses.

Re: Gas Prices
Yuppers Houndsniffer, gas has been stuck at 207.9 in the central valley for several day's now. Almost seems like there splitting the difference the end result is continued rip for us.

Re: Gas Prices
Gas taxes in Alberta are now less than they are in Yellowhorse and Whiteknife.

Re: Gas Prices
I propose they change Whitehorse to Greenhorse because whitehorse could be construed as white supremacist. And Yellowknife could be racist toward Asians, so they should change the name to Blueknife.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 10:00 am Geesh Glace you had me all turned around l was thinking of White Grass and Bent Knife Saskatchewan. Re: Gas Prices
Although l generally agree with you Glace more than my wife at times.
But based on population and things to do for families and singles in those 2 towns your best bet would be.
Smallhorse and Dullknife.

Re: Gas Prices
Funny how oil fell again for a couple days and the pump price went UP just before July 1 weekend. What a scam. Nobody ever held responsible for this gouging.

Re: Gas Prices
Gas stations were selling at a loss last week, so they make the profit by keeping prices high when oil goes down.
What I'd like to know is why the wholesale rack price in Kamloops is MORE than Vancouver! We have a lot of stations out of gas, but I'm told it's because of an ethanol shortage. Government regulations say they must ship in ethanol to Kamloops and mix with the gas that's piped in. Not allowed to sell gas without ethanol. The train has been delayed so no gas can be sold from the Esso terminal anyway.

Re: Gas Prices
At 198.9, a gas station is losing money, even after last week's large decline. Anyone charging 207.9 is probably still losing money given they bought gas last week at sky high prices.

Re: Gas Prices
those 2 gas stations (Chevron & PetroCan) are just down the hill from and the closest to the Pt Roberts border crossing. I suspect it is sell at a loss or don't sell at all.
given that they were generally .02-.07$ above Ladner stations all through the pandemic they may have a cushion.
Citi in the US forecast oil dropping to USD $65/barrel by year end based on recession fears. probably the lowest I've seen forecast but markets are definitely pricing recession fears into oil right now
