Despite being retired since 2013, Rick DiPietro will be paid $24M (spread out over 16 years) by the New York Islanders as a result of his massive contract buyout.

DiPietro signed one of the longest contracts in NHL history (15 years) in 2006, but was bought out 7 years into the deal.

Boring? The fact Wright got snubbed by 3 teams made it quite interesting . Had a feeling canucks would draft Lekkerimaki if he was still available, he seems like a Pettersson clone. And what do they do today? They actually draft someone with the same name as Elias Pettersson..
