12z GFS ensembles (GEFS) total precip over the next 16 days:
Looks like ~8-15mm total across the Lower Mainland.
gfs-ens_apcpn_wus_64.png
12z ECMWF ensembles (EPS) total precip over the next 15 days:
Even wetter... looks like ~15-30mm total across the Lower Mainland.
eps_apcpn_wus_60.png
12z GEM ensembles (GEPS) total precip over the next 16 days:
Looks like ~10-25mm total across the Lower Mainland.

Main takeaway from these maps: Typical approx. 4-6 week summer dry stretch still not popping up in the long range yet. Perhaps we're following the 2012 analogue after all which basically completely dried up from late July all the way till mid October.

Anyone live near the Fraser river in the valley? How's the mosquito situation?
My wife was at Fort Langley today and said the mosquitoes were brutal, right in town. People swatting and running for cover at restaurant patios, lol.
Must be the high river levels, mosquito eggs that were layed at the higher parts of the river banks finally got their water to hatch. Apparently the eggs can stay alive for several years waiting for the water to reach them.

High of 20.8° today..decent I guess.

You broke 20c so that's pretty darn good! For this year at least.

Mosquitoes have just started being bad the last 2-3 days here, before that there were none, too cold maybe?

High of 19.7 in Sechelt today! Not that I'm complaining, this is my type of summer! The grass is still green and growing and feeding the hungry sheep so life is good!

Sounds like pretty much perfection in the land that snow forgot Ms. Perfectcreeks perhaps back to back 19.7c day's would be a feat to achieve this year. sounds like Gumpy is struggling to maintain his city by the bay as a mosquito free zone.

Struggling? No mosquitoes here, maybe saw one about a month ago. When I do see one by my place they're usually dark and big.
Fort langley mosquitoes small and light colored but millions but millions of them.

Good to hear Gumps yeah l guess less of an issue close to beaches. Rivers, creeks, sloughs are the breeding grounds. It's currently 16c @ the pond in south Sardis and cloudy.

They weren't kidding about thunderstorms yesterday! I had 20 mm at my place. Bringing the total for the month to 50. I think about 7 mm fell in about half an hour between 5:00 and 6:00 pm.

Gonna be a 90/70F day in Inuvik today! :o :whistley:

As for here, it is 20C/68F and mostly cloudy at 12:30pm. Dew point is relatively low at 12C but next week should be warmer and more humid.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

BC couldn't even crack the top 40 for hottest places in Canada yesterday!
July7summary.png
Also, I had 20 mm yesterday, WHICH means I was wetter than the wettest place in BC!!
