Its 8 weeks of Mosquitos/ then 8 weeks of no seeums, then 8 weeks of hornets. Of course those insects hatchings overlap, so not one after the other. But the fish love the insect hatchings in the spring/summer!!

I would have thought that August would have been settled as being hotter and drier than normal, but right now the CFS Monthly is showing temps will be normal next month. Some days it's showing it will be wetter and cooler than normal next month.
I’d be surprised if we didn’t get a significant heat wave in August.

No black flies? No doubt rainbow trout love their insects but I thought you weren't into flyfishing. And I've never heard of no-seeum or hornet imitations.

I only remember the Jan 2012 Arctic outbreak which was decent. I'm ok with the first half of December being uneventful with my baby being due at the beginning of December.

We had a snowstorm on Dec 18/19th (that was the first instance of the Port Mann bridge ice bombs) and white Christmas in 2012 at least. Granted it was pretty melty since the the couple days leading up to the 25th were showery/slushy.
Unfortunately that was basically the only real winter weather we had that winter. January 2013 was cool at times but that was due to a prolonged inversion with lots of fog at the surface.

Yes Tsmart, that January/February 2013 was wimpy by my memory. Inversion and fog fests l remember.
