Fine, I'll do what EC won't do and calculate the Humidex for ALL stations including those with temperatures UNDER 20C.

Here you go...

:alert: Temps already in the low 30s in Chilliwack as of 9:30am. Even see a 32C reading.

Soundings at 500mb (as per Seattle NWS) did suggest record breaking temps aloft.

They never used to report the Humidex, either, unless the value was 29 or greater. I'm not sure when that changed, but I think it's not really accurate at values below that threshold.
Range of humidex: Degree of comfort

Less than 29: No discomfort
30 to 39: Some discomfort
40 to 45: Great discomfort; avoid exertion
Above 45: Dangerous; Heat stroke possible

Very interesting hourly progression of a record high temperature.

In that context, our house high last year during the heatwave was 39.8 on July 28, 2021. Location is North Burnaby just up the hill from the golf course. The hourly temperature progression was: low of 24.6; 25 degrees at 0710, 26 at 0830; 27 at 0850; 28 at 0910; 29 at 0930; 30 at 0940; 31 at 1000; 32 at 1010; 33 at 1020; 34 at 1100; 35 at 1120; 36 at 1230; 37 at 1250; 38 at 1320; 39 at 1430.

Our high yesterday was 30.3; based on the trend so far today (now 28.4 at 1050), we should see a temperature of around 35-36 here.

If im being honest, yesterday was a pretty run of the mill warm day. Humidity didnt seem to be much of an issue. This morning wasnt even bad inside the home. Meh. Today is spike day, then temps slowly dwindle away into the next troffy episode
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Southerly winds are ramping up. Could be 50F with pineapply rains by sunset? I can hear Hound smashing his keyboard right now.

Many readings in the Fraser Valley in the mid 30s. 4.5 hours to go until the hottest readings of the day.
