Low of 17.2C here this morning. Not much relief.

YVR humidity sensor still broken... showing 100% humidity the last 5 hours but no fog or mist.

Early one summer in New Mexico, the minimum thermometer at Santa Fe obviously failed. All summer long, Santa Fe recorded some of the lowest minima in the state. Often, it was reported as the state cool spot. This is totally in contrast to long-term established records, which show that station not being anomalously cool in the least. Plus the readings at Santa Fe were totally out of whack with nearby stations, which were not reporting anomalously cool readings. As August wore on, reported minima slouched ever closer to the freezing mark. Then one day Santa Fe started reporting “M” (missing) for all its minima. When it resumed reporting values again, they were in line with believable values. To my knowledge, there were no press releases about it.
