Hopefully that precip bullseye shifts further south. Like winter 2016-17 with the suppressed jet pattern dominating for much of December. Cooler than average for us while Oregon and California get some much needed persistent heavy rainfall.

Pisaster ochraceus, the ochre or purple sea star, had a population collapse due to an outbreak of a generally fatal viral disease. The survivors have been repopulating the species. Thankfully, they can reproduce prolifically.

Nice to see skipper Gimps much like my species were threatened by the resident Hawk but we've come back strong by growing a hard scale.
