BTW, EC’s forecast for Metro Vancouver now mentions “rain showers or flurries” for Saturday night.
It's called clown range for a reason.

If he was still holding out hope for a big christmas miracle then he's very unaware of what's going on with model trends. It's been dire for like 72 hours now. Really, it never got that close. The GFS was just doing GFS things.

He butts heads with the eastern weenies on X everyday. Pretty hilarious this season since all the cold has favoured them for weeks now.

Re: December 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
pretty cautious statement lolol.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:06 pm I have said it before, I will say it again: I am expecting at least some cold and snow in the first half of January.
This is for the simple reason that cold and snow often follow pineapple fests after a week or three.
And i agree, after a ~2 month #patternlock of mild rains, i would say the chances are high that we get "at least some" cold and snow. If i was a gambler, i would agree 80-90% that this "may" happen haha
We will soon find out!
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++

Re: December 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
the models are pretty accurate inside 48 hours, then usually good inside 96 hours. After that, the numbers dwindle quickly
So does anyone REALLY know what the weather is going to be Dec 24? No way. Models could show AR 8 days away, then flurries a few runs later. Lets hope for option B

Re: December 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
On this day in 1964, YVR recorded a high/low of -10.0c/-16.7c. Windchill temp dipped to -27c.
A suppressed jet pattern in December 1964 led to some extreme weather along the west coast during the month. Was one of the coldest and driest Decembers on record for many parts of the north and central coast region, while simultaneously being amongst the snowiest of record for many locales across the south coast. Further to our south, it was one of the wettest on record along the Oregon and Northern California coast as the suppressed jet led to multiple AR events which caused significant flooding.
Our region was frequently ground zero between cold and dry (to the north) and warm and wet (to the south). Big temp contrast led to multiple large snowfalls throughout the second half of the month.

Sadly, you could almost use the same digits this year, except add a ++ to them insteadTypeing3 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 6:31 am On this day in 1964, YVR recorded a high/low of -10.0c/-16.7c. Windchill temp dipped to -27c.![]()
