Can anyone explain why Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge is so much colder than surrounding areas? I'm at -12C at the moment.

It's most likely your winds are lighter than surrounding burbs Mrs. Bugs there's a good outflow in the fraser valley right now, so l'm sure it's trickling into some areas.

Monday's temps definitely just about made category 5 though. Very impressive, especially considering it had been so, so long since we last saw cold (both highs and lows) of that magnitude.
The duration of this event so far is pretty nice as well. I agree with what you are saying 100 percent. I think for me I would go category 4 based on our new climate. Maybe even 5.

Weatherpro isn’t Tyler. Weatherpro has been around for like 10 plus years.

Not sure why that narrative keeps being pushed with zero evidence. Tyler doesn’t need to tweet everyday, He kinda works for a big weather agency called the weather network.
