Imagine if Carney bows down and gives Trump everything he wants. Would his supporters still support him?

A re-count has taken away one Liberal seat and given it to the Bloc

There are plenty of valid criticisms of Mark Carney, but I don't think 'soft on Trump' is one of them.

Trump thinks Carney is "nice" and a "gentleman", but he also likes Xi Jinping "very much" and had a "great relationship" with Vladimir Putin. Are they bowing down to him? Didn't think so.

He also gushed about Doug Ford, calling him "a strong man". If there's any common thread it's that Trump respects strength, both in actions and in words.

I would hope the NDP and the Bloc cooperate with the Conservatives to bring down the government and force an early election if that happens.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Exactly. That's one good thing about a minority government.

But we should give Carney a year to see what he can do, since no one wants an election too soon.

Agreed. The election is over now. Some of us are happy and others, like myself, are disappointed. But regardless, Canadians went with Carney so we need to give him at least a chance. His main election promise was that he could negotiate with Trump and get Canada a good deal. Therefore, if he fails to deliver that promise, I'm confident that the NDP/Bloc would work with the Conservatives to bring down his government. To be honest, I think his minority government will be a lot weaker than the former Trudeau/Singh government so he really can't afford to mess up the trade negotiations.

Agreed Abby Sr. I've always believed in the honeymoon period.
I guess growing up l recall my parents saying give the new PM sometime to see what he can do but of course desention would set in eventually.

Being the one most likely to deal effectively with Trump was basically the reason he won (he sold himself as such). If he fails at that, I see his support collapsing.

Trump said he would never stop talking about Canada being the 51st state. I thought Carney was supposed to solve this.
