I still think it’s coming in the first half of January. It is actually common for the models to flirt with the idea then kick the can down the road a bit before finally calling for snow and cold and sticking with that story. Late December was always on the early side for a traditional post-pineap-a-looza cold snap.

I’ve mostly given that one up. It’s better here. Not as busy or famous or popular, but still better.
Sort of like Canada as a whole.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Honestly, nothing seems to suggest any decrease of activity upstream to allow for that N Pac block to broaden. That said, one of those troughs is bound to dig further east and you don't need much cold air this time of year to get some lowland snow.

We are almost flirting with a serious xmas eve windstorm if that low bombs out further NW. That and downsloping +12C temps.

Re: December 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
Even Squamish, which normally would be seeing at least some snow in a set up like this is struggling. Too warm all over.

Euro gives hope we can avoid the +12C southerly winds on xmas eve. Instead, it gives us +4C showers

Yep. Models look horrific again. Euro will likely cave today. It was a nice try.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 6:29 am Honestly, nothing seems to suggest any decrease of activity upstream to allow for that N Pac block to broaden. Can gets kicked to the end of the run again. These models might as well be 4chan edgelords.

Prolly not iibh. It was looking like another small victory, then like a brutal loss, now back to a less severe beating
