What is winter?

Dec-Jan-Feb?
Dec 21st - Mar 20th?
October 1st to April 30th?

I personally use the 3rd definition since November and March can be legitimate winter months, often being colder than February. Might as well just throw in October and April for good measure. May is kind of irrelevant as far as YVR is concerned, but you can add it in just in case.

My weather station resets snowfall totals on June 1st, so anything that falls from June 1st to May 31st gets counted in the winter total.

I consider it "Winter" locally from Nov 1-Mar 1. This is realistically when the ingredients are there to snow, although rare. This year it was a rainy winter :x
After Mar 1, we are racing against time and any snow chances quickly drop, like the Canucks plummet to the basement
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Unfortunately, it's still in the 300hr+ range. But it's nice to see and there is ensemble support.
Maybe we can score a low elevation snowfall after all?
