 06z Gfs shows a rainy weekend and next week is quite wet, but nothing too significant in duration. The goose shud be happy.

150 mm is missing for this month in Coquitlam. We won’t get that.

I came across a post on FB yesterday or day before, showing an aerial pic over M Ridge, with Golden Ears in the background, dated Oct 18/1985. Fresh snow, and a decent amount by the looks, half way down the mountain. Is this the same year we scored the early, cold November?
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Yes, the coldest November on record for many locales across the province was back in 1985. The only other November that rivals 1985 in recorded history was 1896.

Maple Ridge Oct 18, 1985.

The 12Z EPSGram is even more aggressive on the cold from the CMC.

Nice pic!

Another note on 1985: some of the snow we received during the crazy cold snap in the second half of November remained on the ground for over a month -- through Christmas as December was mostly dominated by an inversion with weeks of fog and little precip.

Snowfall data at the New Westminster station during Nov 1896 seems dubious given Steveston recorded 16.5cm. Rainfall/precip was also recorded when temps were near or below freezing which would likely indicate the snowfall that fell on those days was not measured.

If we could only go back. So much better then for everything compared to now.
