It was a pretty short t-storm but we're getting an encore, more thunder, rain and fairly high cloud with a yellowish cast. Looks like proper t-storm weather.

Watched a tstorm travel behind mission westward. Lost energy once the sun went down and by 8:30 it was pretty much dead. Now half the amount of cloud and no action.

My weather model forecast is predicting a season of Pumpkin Spice Latte and Christmas decoration starting this week or next. I already saw a tiny smattering of Christmas lights at Costco and Halloween decor is already appearing in stores like Costco and Walmart.

I read an article today it says they figure El Nina will not be as strong perhaps. That could be a good thing it's currently a surprisingly 26c @ the fish pond in south Sardis.

Maybe it was an AI article.

Interesting. I read on here a while back that cold kills more people on earth than warm by a long shot, without stats to back it up.

Doesn't seem to track...according to this article https://www.theguardian.com/world/arti ... year-study heat killed around 50,000 in Europe last year. I think back to 2003 where it killed 70,000 over the course of a few days.

Of course in a more local anecdote, we had a mass death event here in the infamous heat dome 2021. I can't recall the last mass death event like this from cold weather...obviously in part because almost everyone has a heat source. But also IMO because of a certain shall not be named global phenomenon.

People are really sleeping on extreme heat as a dangerous part of the here and now. There needs to be A/C installed at all retirement and nursing homes and should probably be mandatory in new condo builds as well.
