GFS would end New York City's 3 year old snow drought!

Catnip wrote: Thu Jan 11, 2024 8:06 pm That is the current scene in Coquitlam also. Blue Mountain (a main 2 lane road) is complete ice and people are coming down like that. Same thing with the next hill over, Marmont. They really should close the hills down. Up top it looks clear but by the time you get to half way point and to the bottom it is complete ice. Snow tires or not... its not going to be pretty... unless you have studded tires.

I had to take quite the detour to get home just now.
Wow that's horrible and dangerous really nothing a driver can do.

Glad you made it home safe.

The NFS cancelled winter 2 months ago… so why is it -7.2c with a windchill of -11c currently?

Maybe we’ll warm up briefly then back into the freezer.

Should I have been more careful to get my facts straight before making assumptions? Yes, and I apologize for that. Now back to the weather.
The problem is there is a few who constantly get away with it. It’s confusing to us observers.

Looks like some potential down the line with that high latitude blocking.
