My thoughts exactly. But RGEM has also handles this week well, from picking up on the arctic front being slower, to the Tuesday system going more north. Maybe one more big win for RGEM?

I love that for them. We get some easy nice zonal flow, we need the moisture. Sunny and +25 on the east coast.

Re: December 2022 Forecasts And Discussions
That sums up all of Metro Van perfectly. "Poorly designed from the start!" Something crammed into an area with not enough room or infrastructure. To top it off, the issues being ignored forever to fix the damn infrastructure as the population increase. In fact they should not be allowed to promote immigration and dense housing UNTIL infrastructure is in place or fixed. That's why Highway 1 from Surrey to Chilliwack is a complete traffic nightmare and dangerous due to neglect. The fact you have to crawl through Richmond with no fast and direct route to the airport is a major FAIL!
This is what really pisses me off about the lower mainland. Too many greedy, corrupt, lazy and incompetent people in charge.

Re: December 2022 Forecasts And Discussions
What's wholly ironic about this is there actually used to be a passenger train that ran from Vancouver to Chilliwack and vice-versa prior to the 1950s. We could really use that now to alleviate a lot of the commuter traffic that runs along the corridor.Hound wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 2:46 pm That sums up all of Metro Van perfectly. Unfortunately one of my 3 Humming Birds has froze to death. He gave his life so that we may see another snow storm this week.

You can add WAY overpaid people that pad their pockets for a job poorly done, with endless job security for doing so, while patting their colleagues on the back for a job "well done"Hound wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 2:46 pm That sums up all of Metro Van perfectly. Re: December 2022 Forecasts And Discussions
Perhaps the greatest winter event in recorded history across the Lower Mainland was January 1935. A two-week period that included extreme cold, heavy snow, a huge ice storm, and massive amounts of rain.

SNOW ISOLATES VANCOUVER
Trains Held Up In Mountains
VANCOUVER, January 23.
The British Columbia mainland has been gripped since Sunday by heavy snows and six Inches of rain, which
have paralysed communications and railway services.
In Vancouver the schools have been closed. A number of trains have been held up since Monday by snowdrifts, a hundred miles east of Vancouver.
The Canadian Pacific and Canadian National Transcontinental trains have not been running In British Columbia since Sunday, and traffic may not be resumed for a week. Tonight an aeroplane was sent from Vancouver to drop food to a Canadian Pacific train, which is marooned somewhere in the Coquihalla Valley, and from which no word has been received since Sunday. A terrific snow storm, followed by a thaw, caused numerous snowslides, which have blocked traffic in every direction.
Telegraph and telephone lines have been broken, Vancouver was cut off from Eastern Canada, and New York yesterday. Resourceful companies sent messages to Bamfield and cabled them to Sydney, then from Australia through London and round the world to New York, Toronto, and Montreal. Floods are following the heavy snow, and the damage in the Vancouver area will run into several million dollars.

I just read that they enter a state of torpor, like hibernation and if you slowly warm them inside, in a covered container, they will 'come back to life'. Only works as long as they are not frozen solid.
