I know some may be thinking split flow ... remember models were showing split flow before and we just had a nice stretch of cold n snow.

For winter weather....a weak ridge and split flow is better than any 580dm ridge along the West Coast amplifying into Alaska and the Yukon (hello Jan and Feb 2015)

Thats coming down south into BC in February.

Models were showing all that cold sitting up there and not making it down here but then they slowly changed their tunes and it worked out well for us, imo. Perhaps a repeat of some sorts is in the works?

Most likely sometime between the 4th and the 12th, when I’ll be in New Mexico and missing it.

No doubt that we see it in Feb. Too many signals showing this. Thinking 2nd week of Feb onwards however I am feeling this could be a coast to coast blast. Not as snowy as we saw but it should deliver another taste of winter.

Low elevation snows would certainly still be a possibility though as they always are when arctic air reaches the coast.

Still sitting remarkably below freezing out here in Chilliwack -1.2c currently my high so far is -0.6c even had some blue sky. Gumps was asking about freezing rain hardly a drop when I was out and about this afternoon, I'm thinking tonight we'll break through the freezing barrier.

Rain has had a deathwish on the snow here today.

Ah well, at least I can get back to living a normal life until the snow returns.

I just drove home from Langley, no snow falling anywhere. No precipitation of any type.
