Border is close.Radar wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 5:28 pm It's gon rain!
Temps creeping up in Abby. Almost 1cm of snow so far, oooo. I see accumulation amounts on the RAP and HRRR have dropped. Transition to rain at midnight says the HRRR, but I have a feeling that will happen when the precip slows down.
Temps are going above 0 already 15km south of the border. Freezing line has been moving north at 15km/hr. Someone has to put up the wall at the border.
Dewpoint finally screaming up so precip should increase.

- It is taking a while for the moisture to work its way east to you.
- Fraser outflow is eating most of whatever is falling up there.

As the event progresses, the moisture should overwhelm the outflow and give you a decent snowfall.

Heavier Snow is moving in now for the next 3-4 hours.
Enjoy it everyone. It was a long model riding, it's worth every second of it.

Bellingham airport has switched to reporting “unknown precipitation,†probably a rain/snow mix.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
No modeling had Bellingham scoring a lot of snow. Even weak SE winds really warm that area up.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 5:50 pm Bellingham airport has switched to reporting “unknown precipitation,†probably a rain/snow mix.

Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Last night ECMWF and HRRR were both predicting that coastal Whatcom County would have a relatively prompt and early transition to above-freezing conditions. Looks like those models nailed it.
Both models also showed most of the Lower Mainland holding out as snow until some time between midnight and 10:00 AM.
At this stage, it is quite clear that the snowier Goofus scenario is not going to materialize.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Goofus did. But most of the others did not.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 5:52 pm No modeling had Bellingham scoring a lot of snow. Even weak SE winds really warm that area up.
