Temps creeping up in Abby. Almost 1cm of snow so far, oooo. I see accumulation amounts on the RAP and HRRR have dropped. Transition to rain at midnight says the HRRR, but I have a feeling that will happen when the precip slows down.

Temps are going above 0 already 15km south of the border. Freezing line has been moving north at 15km/hr. Someone has to put up the wall at the border.

Dewpoint finally screaming up so precip should increase.

YXX is currently reporting -2.4C and my station at home is at -1.7C and has shown no signs of any major warming.

1. It is taking a while for the moisture to work its way east to you.
2. Fraser outflow is eating most of whatever is falling up there.

3 Donut hole
As the event progresses, the moisture should overwhelm the outflow and give you a decent snowfall.

Has anyone heard of fog today? BC Ferries now says ferries from Sunshine Coast to Horseshoe Bay are cancelled due to fog??? H Bay to SC 4:20 fog next two sailings cancelled due to strong winds.

No modeling had Bellingham scoring a lot of snow. Even weak SE winds really warm that area up.

Last night ECMWF and HRRR were both predicting that coastal Whatcom County would have a relatively prompt and early transition to above-freezing conditions. Looks like those models nailed it.

Both models also showed most of the Lower Mainland holding out as snow until some time between midnight and 10:00 AM.

At this stage, it is quite clear that the snowier Goofus scenario is not going to materialize.
