wetcoast91 wrote: Wed Nov 30, 2022 1:18 pm Potentially some snow/rain showers later in SE sections associated with energy riding up from a shortwave. Not sure why all models are not showing this as it's evident there's some developing feature on IR.

The sky is definitely darkening to the SE of me, but I don't see anything of interest on radar yet.

Although after yesterday, maybe that's not such a good idea.

It would be really epic to experience a December 1996 style arctic blast and snowstorm. Heavy snow was falling at -12C in Abbotsford.

Snow rates must have been insane. Max snow depth was 69cm at YXX. Why does it have to be so hard to get a repeat?

It would be nice to just see some meaningless flurries fly in the air this afternoon..make it officially a back2back snow event in November 8-)
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Hound wrote: Wed Nov 30, 2022 11:54 am Well, always do. Guildford Mall area seems to do just slightly better, but out of all Surrey we seem to get the most snow in most cases. I'm not sure why, I've been trying to figure it out. Not sure if it has something to do do with the winds coming up out of the fraser river below us or winds coming from the pitt lake valley? Then colliding forcing a stronger precip rate? Abby Sr. used to live in this area, perhaps he has an idea.
:dunno:
Yeah, I think you've got the right idea... winds converging from different directions, and throw in some decent elevation. I really miss the dumps I had when I lived there.
