@Monty...is your area the recipient of "Cold air damning" in Saturdays set up with the Easterlies?
I see the Hood Anal and East Island is always getting smoked with snow while surrounding areas get cold rain for us
It's no longer looking good for the Southern Island either. The track of that low pumps in much warmer air at the midlayer. Different story had it made landfall, but these systems have largely taken an unfavorable trajectory this period.

Mostly a Campbell River-Comox storm.
Even the GFS has come to its senses and keeps it mainly rain at sea level, except for a period of brief mixing to start.
2025-26 season stats:
Climo ∞ to 0.5 GFS
Season total: 0.5 cm and TWO traces!
Peak depth: 0.5 cm (01/07/2026)
Is Puntzi Mountain really the coldest spot in the province when it's very cold? I'm willing to say no. Only pedophiles and rapists care what the lows are. Good people care more about afternoon highs, and really good people take windchill into account.

Yes but I'd like some adjustments to the ridge and trough position. If that were to verify, it would likely be backdoor dry cold. While better than nothing, it would be nice to see a classic arctic front with a polar low coming straight down from the north.
Unfortunately Jr. man those types of events don't happen anymore but l can remember a way back when how it use to be.
I would have to walk blocks to school in blizzard conditions in Vancouver.

Dude. December 2021 was 12 months ago. February 2017 was pretty amazing. I agree winters have gone downhill but the negativity is a little much. Especially after a hot start to the winter. This thing could easily trend favourable. C'mon!

I know Kells just seems years ago Arctic events lasted longer than afew day's.
We also always had an over running event not a moderation like we get now.

I know it was better but humanity signed up for this voluntarily. Just have to take what we can get at this point. 2016-2022 has been a decent stretch relative to post 1996.

Uphill both ways? My mum was from Quebec and would tell us she walked miles in the snow to get to school and that was the joke.
