On balance I'd say January 2011 was a bigger bust. At least January 2005 had snow going into a fairly prolonged cold snap. Though the overrunning event was still a massive disappointment.

Final freezing rain total here looks to be around 9-12mm.

0.3c, dp -0.1c with moderate rain.

Most surfaces are still caked in a glaze of ice.

O.k. but in hindsight Tbud this was almost a carbon copy, but funny thing is this event didn't bother me. l guess for the fact of the ZR scare especially living in Chilliwack now. But then living in Maple Ridge the ZR events were minor the 13 years we lived there.

Can't compare this event with January 2005 or 2011. Not even in the same ballpark.

Some serious freezing rain here for the past hr, power flickering nothing has melted it is a sheet of ice over everything, still -6. Not sure the forecast of 20 to 30 cms by tomorrow will happen but if this continues we may be in trouble yikes 😬
