I will be very surprised if it does not snow at all next winter.

Guys, guys, I don't mean that it won't snow at all next winter. I just mean that it might be a lot less than the recent two. Perhaps I was a little overdramatic in my pronouncement.

A January cold snap (garden-variety with respect to temperatures) with a widespread inch or two of snow... and that's it for the entire winter. Then I can spend the entire rest of the non-winter winter ribbing Jim about it on the AF: “Hey, we finally scored a January cold snap, didn’t we? Isn’t this great? Much better than all those losing winters with big dumps in February, isn’t it? Isn’t it great to finally get what you wished for?”

Sort of like me and snow in March. Never seen more than a fleeting slushy flurry fall in 30+ years.

When I lived in Seattle, Portland or Vancouver got sticking snow in March.

When I lived in Portland, Seattle or Vancouver did.

But never, ever, IMBY.

It has snowed in the lowlands of Western Oregon at least three times this month. Even sometimes in coastal areas. Newport reported snow this morning. It was 5°C and raining IMBY this morning.
