Re: December 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
Models not catching on the surface temps yet. Very mild 925mb temps and a potential downsloping wind could lead to warmer temps.
Would be nice to have May in December for 1 day.

I miss those floods. It hardly ever floods anywhere on the farmlands anymore. So no frozen fields to skate on.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 1:25 pm
A fabulous historical shot of the flooded 'farming flats' of Cloverdale, BC on what was then the Pacific Hwy to the border

We're losing less than 30 seconds of light a day in a couple days!

My 'impression' (not necessarily facts) is that El Nino has produced occasional killer dumps in the past - probably not to last though...SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 7:26 am l'm trying to show El Nino man some love for the holidaysEl Stuffo boss.

Re: December 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
I've seen some discussion on the web/social media about how things could start looking a bit better around here come January.... hard to believe I know.
Fwiw, for the last few days, the extended GEFS has been showing the west turning below normal once we get into Jan.
Euro weeklies also painted a similar picture.
Not posting this cause I believe it will necessarily happen, just adding it to the discussion.

I saw a Facebook post this morning from yesterday that some think El Nino may have peaked. We'll know in the next couple weeks if this is the case. *fingers crossed*
