Low level inversion is cheating us out of them.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I will admit...it's not looking good but I am hoping for some downsloping winds and decent mixing to pump up the temps. :wish:

Seymour and Grouse are a touch better but very few runs are open. I see these hills shutting down before New Years.

I would like to nominate this post as the most depressing winter weather post of 2023
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Big soaker on Xmas being shown on the 18Z GFS.

And some mountain snow too, sorry Neetz.

Between Christmas and New Year's is pretty active on this run. A storm looks to move through around every 2nd day. Lots of :raindrip: and possible wind.

I know I'm in the minority, but if I can't get a white Christmas, I'll take a big soaker. :silent:

I don't think I'll be in the minority by saying if I can't get a white Christmas, I'll take a January 1954 repeat. Arctic air locked in for nearly two weeks with a widespread 80-100+cm of snow over the lower mainland in a seven day period. Interesting enough, it was a weak but almost moderate El Niño winter. But it was also the 50's when January actually got cold. :bang:

Exellent post Jr. Man on describing how it use to be. We reached a spring like 10c @ the pond in south Sardis.

I have experienced many pleasant green and mild dry Christmases. They're not too bad, especially with sun involved. :)

You’d like Bellingham’s climate. They get mid/upper teens multiple times in a typical winter, due to downsloping off the mountains to their south every time there is a good southerly wind surge up the Salish Sea. The warmth tends to be fairly short lived (a few hours long), vanishing when the strong downsloping does.

Any chance sending El Neets down by FedEx or UPS C.O.D. they'll probably send him back return to sender anyways. :wtf: thick fog this morning highway 1 to the north side Fraser River in the central valley the low was 1c and it's currently 2c @ the pond in south Sardis. It's breakfast with the Crackanuts game time 11a.m. from Minny Mouse town :shifty: enjoy hockey 🏒 forum friends.
