I had the local ski hills closing before Christmas.
I did not foresee the higher alpine areas including Baker and Whistler having issues. Next weeks AR looks to be all rain up there which could lead to closures before NYE.

But it doesn't look to be aimed at the Fraser Valley like November 2021. So another typical rainy day here but nothing unusual. While we don't need another major flood, it would be nice to something more significant than the typical rain shadow AR's.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 11:08 am It's a really potent AR. Could see some flooding for Vancouver Island...the one good thing is there is barely any snow below 1200m.

This is great news. Thanks for sharingwetcoast91 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:58 pm I had the local ski hills closing before Christmas.

It's also just boring as well.. Bring on spring if this is how winter will be.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 8:53 pm Models appear to be doing away with the ARs on the 00z run. Just looks mild (+9 to +12C) with light rain, drizzle and fog.
Really want spring to come soon. Being socked in this mucky pattern is not enjoyable. Even the air quality has been moderate at times despite the rain due to the overall lack of wind this month.

Sure hope they back to the AR solution. Drizzle is horrible. If it's going to rain, let it be a decent soaker.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 8:53 pm Models appear to be doing away with the ARs on the 00z run. Just looks mild (+9 to +12C) with light rain, drizzle and fog.

That's absolutely insane Ty my man, l remember saying back in November l hope your Christmas trip would yield some snow for you but this is looking ridiculous this year every where except Anchorage AK. is having record breaking snowfalls again this winter.
