Bellingham is certain to score some good torching. They get downsloping in such situations.
It's called clown range for a reason.

All ya all always talk about the extreme cold windchill, but you never talk about the extreme warm windchill.

Well, I put the Lytton numbers in the windchill calculator and on 2021-06-29 at 13:00:00 PDT, the temperature was 49.4 and wind 14 km/h.

Plug that into the formula, and the windchill works out to 56.4C. I guess at hot temperatures wind makes it feel hotter.

In 50 years, people will be wondering how YVR didn't set an all-time high in June 2021... that NW wind was streaming in those last few days

This has probably been said ad-nauseam on here at this point, but YVR is not representative at all of the region or even the city of Vancouver, especially summer temps. East Van peaked at 40c during that heatwave.

Yes, I know pretty much the entire Pacific Northwest set all-time records that week, just pointing out how the wind direction screwed Richmond/Delta out of all-time highs. Easterlies would had put YVR up to 35+ for sure. Personally, the warmest I've experienced in Metro Van is still July 2009, but that's because I spent that entire heat wave up in Mission instead of in Richmond lol

Downsloping from Mission hills there helped. I was in Maple Ridge that was just as 🔥 hot to me.

That persistent summer NW wind off the strait on Sea Island is actually pretty chilly sometimes. Gotta wear a sweater for walks on the dyke.

Just once, I want to see the NW wind actually be used to its' fullest potential. Gimme a 970mb low parked on top of Everett for 3 days and pile up the strait-effect feetz of snow

Would like to know for January 71, where was the low placement for that continously waves of snow? back then the weather office out in Richmond or Transport Canada as it was under would receive the satellite in 2 pieces half in the morning 2nd half in early afternoon. I remember watching Norm Grohman that Monday evening the day after the Arctic front plowed through on a Sunday evening and l can still remember seeing a nice spiral low just SW of Vancouver Island l was so excited l remember the satellite was black and white of course.
